Married At First Sight UK contestant George Roberts has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour.
The Worcestershire-based reality star is believed to have been arrested in the town last week, according to The Sun.
Now the Metropolitan Police have released a statement sharing Roberts has since been bailed.
The arrested took place on Thursday, September 29, with the show continuing to air as it is all pre-recorded.
Married At First Sight UK's George Roberts arrested
In the statement released by the police, it reads: "A 40-year-old man was arrested in Worcestershire on Thursday, September 29, on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour.
"He was taken to a police station and bailed pending further enquiries."
The news of Roberts arrest comes following allegations from three former girlfriends of the MAFS star who shared accusations of emotional abuse from Roberts.
A spokesperson for the contestant said Roberts had found the claims "deeply upsetting and does not condone abuse nor behaves in that way."
Later reports claimed that multiple women had come forward to MAFS producers with their stories of Roberts, but filming continued.
When the allegations first came to light, Channel 4 which runs the reality show on E4 released a statement saying they: "ensure all Married At First Sight UK contributors are subject to rigorous background and psychological checks, including the most detailed police checks a production is able to undertake.
"Any allegations of this nature are taken extremely seriously by Channel 4."
However, since the arrest E4 has continued to air the pre-recorded show that features Roberts.
But some have expressed their concerns for the show featuring Roberts, with an insider telling The Sun: "This has been rumbling on for a while but now the police are involved, so many involved in the show thought surely they would have to pull it off air – or at the very least re-edit it.
"This has become a nightmare for the network, who didn't know about allegations in his past before."
In the show, Roberts is partnered up with the former Ms Great Britian April Banbury in a non-legally binding commitment ceremony.
