A 56-year-old man was found impaled on railings in a park this morning.
An ambulance and fire crews were called to Carriage Drive North, in Battersea Park, at 3am.
They managed to free him within minutes and took him to St George's Hospital, Tooting, with a leg injury and what apppeared to be a minor head injury.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said he was conscious and breathing when crews got there.
It is not known yet why the man was inside Battersea Park which is locked at night.
