As part of a range of activities and events for Maths week, The Happy Puzzle Company came to Hurlingham for a day to provide the children with fun filled workshops to enrich their learning.
They brought a range of exciting and challenging 3D puzzles to help develop the children’s problem solving and thinking skills. These are skills that the children will be able to use in all subjects not only Maths.
The children had an enormous amount of fun working out the solutions to the puzzles together!
When tackling the puzzles the children also learned to work as part of team, to develop their ability to communicate with each other and to keep trying to find a solution when the puzzle got tough!
Some of the puzzles looked easy to solve but proved more difficult than they looked.
These are some comments the children made after tackling the challenges.
“It made us use our brains when we had to solve the puzzles” Saskia “I learned not to give up!” Zoe “When we worked together we solved the puzzles more quickly” Alec “I had to concentrate really hard to solve the shape puzzle mystery” Ella Based on information supplied by Matt Curtis.
