Wandsworth Council has formally sent the Queen its congratulations and best wishes on her Diamond Jubilee.
Councillors from both parties represented on the local authority unanimously adopted a resolution to mark the Queen's 60 years on the throne.
The wording of the resolution, which has been forwarded to Buckingham Palace by the Mayor of Wandsworth Councillor Jane Cooper, states: "To Her Most Gracious Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Second:
"We, the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth, on behalf of the citizens of this Borough, convey to your Majesty our loyal and affectionate greetings and the pleasure with which we regard the sixtieth anniversary of your succession to the Throne.
"That long and eventful period has seen a pace of change unknown to your predecessors, especially in the advance of science and technology and the significant changes in society, commerce and industry throughout the United Kingdom and The Commonwealth.
"We gratefully acknowledge the warmth and devotion you have displayed throughout your long reign - with the unfailing support of your husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and pray that the blessing of Almighty God might be with your Majesty as you may yet continue your long reign over your people."
Wandsworth will be at the heart of the nation's jubilee celebrations when a spectacular 1,000-boat river pageant weaving its way along the Thames from its starting point in Putney while a massive festival celebrating the Queen's reign is being staged in Battersea Park.
