I went from nothing to marathon fit last year with months of training through wind, rain and snow around the streets and parks of Wandsworth in order to run the London marathon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Unfortunately, I never made it - collapsing at mile 19 and waking up in a medical tent, too ill to carry on.
I have not been put off however and have begun again, determined to use what happened to raise even more money for such a brilliant cause. My sister and dad ran with me last year and my dad is running again with me this year to support me and raise as much money as possible for charity that has supported and given essential care to many of our family and friends.
