Travelodge have announced plans to open an 84-bed hotel in Battersea opposite Clapham Junction station creating more than 50 jobs.
The hotel, set to open in 2012, will be situated in Falcon Road, immediately opposite Europe’s busiest railway station.
Developers Sequoia Hotels Limited will be redeveloping the existing empty office block, Woburn House to create the 84-room tower with a ground floor retail unit and six residential apartments. Doherty Baines acted for Sequoia Hotel Limited.
Robert Ryan, development manager for Travelodge hotels, said: “We have long sought a hotel in Clapham so we are delighted to have secured this location so close to Clapham Junction station.
“By redeveloping the vacant office block the developers will be creating an exciting new scheme which will benefit and enhance this part of Clapham Junction town centre as well as providing much needed hotel rooms.”
