This gig has been postponed: Full details HERE
The Battersea community continues to bounce back following the devastating riots which laid waste to the town.
Tomorrow night (Thursday, September 8), sees a benefit gig in aid of Victim Support and St Mark’s Youth Group take place at The Grand nightclub in St John’s Hill.
The event was organised by the club and a team of local volunteers as a way of helping the area recover from the violence, which gripped the area one month ago today.
In the wake of the rioting, Wandsworth Council arranged a public meeting called Battersea Buzz, where local residents, councillors and business people came together to discuss how to positively respond to the attacks.
The gig was one of several initiatives to be put forward - and more plans are currently being developed. Tickets to the gig - featuring Squeeze front man Chris Difford, who wrote and performed Up the Junction - cost £10 and can be purchased online at eventim.co.uk. Doors open at 7pm.
For more information about Battersea Buzz call Clapham Junction town centre manager Lorinda Freint on 020 7627 3182 or email lfreint@wandsworth.gov.uk.
