A 15-year-old was shot in Earlsfield last night, a week after another man was shot in the same area.
The shooting is the latest in an escalation in violence police have attributed to gangs.
Police were called at 9.30pm to reports of shots fired in St Johns Drive, Earlsfield.
A police spokesman said: “Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and discovered a male youth, aged 15, suffering a gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a serious condition but stable condition.”
Another teenager, believed to be 16, suffered a minor wound to the foot, possibly from a gun, in the incident.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Trident team are investigating.
On Tuesday, September 8, gunshots were heard in the Whitlock Drive and St John’s Drive area.
At an address in Whitlock Drive they found a 20-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
He is recovering.
