Today’s weather is looking unpleasant amid the yellow weather warning which has been issued for south London.

Storm Bert is set to cause gusts of up to 65mph in some places and the weather warning is in place until 9pm tonight.

According to the Met Office, the south London forecast reads: “South to southwesterly winds will be strong and gusty throughout Sunday, easing from the west through the afternoon and early evening as a band of heavy rain associated with a weather front clears eastwards.”

Wind gusts are forecasted to reach 45-55 mph widely, with “a few exposed sites, mainly over high ground and along south-facing coasts, seeing gusts of 60-65 mph.”

Today’s overall outlook reads: “Rain, often heavy, will only slowly spread east through the day. Though Sussex and Kent in particular may stay dry.

“Windy everywhere, with gales along the south coast, perhaps locally severe. Very mild. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight’s outlook reads: “Periods of heavy rain slowly easing from the northwest later in the night with most parts west of London dry by dawn.

“Winds easing overnight but staying very mild. Minimum temperature 8 °C.”
