A new Lidl is set to open in Wandsworth, with the opening date now revealed.
Lidl has confirmed that its new Wandsworth store, located in Southside Shopping Centre, will officially open its doors on Thursday, June 13.
Its launch will start with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8am, to be led by the Mayor of Wandsworth, Sana Jafri.
This huge new branch, measuring at more than 1,100 metres squared, will give Wandsworth residents access to Lidl's affordable, quality products.
The new store will also boast the famous Lidl bakery, which was recently named the UK's favourite supermarket bakery, surpassing both Tesco and Sainsbury's.
Max Clapton, regional head of property at Lidl GB, said: "As our customer base continues to grow in the capital, we can’t wait to open our Wandsworth store, giving even more people access to our high-quality products at the lowest possible prices.
"We would like to thank all those who have played a part in delivering this new store and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors."
The Wandsworth store has created around 40 new jobs, with Lidl offering some of the most competitive pay rates in the industry to its staff.
Centre director at Southside Shopping Centre, Rebecca Ruddle, is "thrilled" at the prospect of Lidl joining their centre.
She said: "We’re thrilled to be home to the area’s first Lidl store.
"The new addition signifies the start of several enhancements we’re making here at Southside to ensure we continue to provide a great retail, food and leisure destination in the heart of Wandsworth."
Ms Ruddle added that Lidl will complement the shopping centre's "goal of providing diverse and convenient shopping options for our visitors".
She said: "We’re confident Lidl will receive a warm welcome by the local community when it officially opens its doors on 13th June."

The new Wandsworth store will open from 8am-9pm for customers shopping between Monday and Saturday, and from 10.30am for browsing on Sundays, with tills available from 11am-5pm.
Lidl recently overtook Asda to become London's third-largest supermarket, and has announced plans to expand even further in the capital - with a wish list of areas it hopes to open stores.
In the coming months, the supermarket plans to open new branches in Fulham, Hoxton, and Canning Town.
