A man has died after a flat fire in Wandsworth.
The fire broke out in Kimber Road just before 3.50am today (December 24).
Half of a three-bedroom ground floor flat, in a converted end of terraced house, was damaged by the blaze.
The man was found inside the property and pronounced dead at the scene.
The fire was under control just before 5.30am.
Firefighters from Wandsworth, Battersea and Tooting fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Sadly a man has died following a flat fire on Kimber Road in Wandsworth.
“Half of a three bedroom ground floor flat, in a converted end of terraced house, was damaged by the fire.
“One man was found inside the property and pronounced dead at the scene.
“The Brigade was called about the incident at 0352 and the fire was under control by 0526.
“Firefighters from Wandsworth, Battersea and Tooting fire stations attended the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
