Wandsworth Bridge will be closed to all vehicles including buses from today (July 24) for approximately 10 weeks.

All bus services which usually use Wandsworth Bridge will be diverted or stop short of their normal destinations.

Route 28 will run between Kensal Rise Station and Wandsworth Bridge, north side only.

Buses will set down at bus stop TL on Wandsworth Bridge Road on the north side of the bridge and pick up from bus stop L on Imperial Road near Imperial Wharf Station.

Route 295 will run between Ladbroke Grove, Sainsbury's and Wandsworth Bridge, north side only.

Buses will set down at stop TL and pick up from bus stop TE on the north side of the bridge.

Route C3 will run between Earl's Court, Tesco and Sands End, Sainsbury's only. Buses will set down at bus stop TS on William Morris Way and pick up from bus stop TW on Townmead Road.

Route 728 will be introduced during the closure of the bridge running between Fulham Broadway Station and Wandsworth Shopping Centre.

Buses will run via:

  • Harwood Road
  • King's Road 
  • Beaufort Street (towards Wandsworth) or Cheyne Walk (towards Fulham Broadway)
  • Battersea Bridge
  • Battersea Bridge Road
  • Prince Of Wales Drive and Albert Bridge Road (towards Wandsworth only),
  • Battersea Park Road
  • Falcon Road
  • Clapham Junction station
  • St John's Hill
  • Plough Road
  • York Road
  • Wandsworth Roundabout
  • Swandon Way
  • Wandsworth Town Station
  • Old York Road
  • Fairfield Street and Wandsworth High Street (towards Wandsworth only),
  • Ram Street (towards Fulham Broadway only)
  • Garratt Lane serving all bus stops along the route.

Route 728 will run every 20 minutes between 5am and midnight on all days of the week.

Route N28 will run between Camden Town and Clapham Junction station only, diverting via Battersea Bridge between 24 and 28 July.

Then from 29 July until the bridge reopens route N28 will extend beyond Clapham Junction to Wandsworth Shopping Centre.

The diversion route between Fulham Broadway and Wandsworth will follow the route 728 routeing serving the same bus stops.

Passengers can interchange from routes 28 or 295 to route 728 at Fulham Town Hall or from route C3 to route 728 at Worlds End Health Centre on King's Road.
