A jury has begun considering verdicts in the trial of a former caretaker accused of killing his girlfriend’s young son.
Jake Drummond, 33, allegedly fatally shook and hit 15-month-old Jacob Lennon in Roehampton, south-west London, early on August 27, 2019.
In the weeks before, Jacob suffered other injuries which the boy’s mother, Louise Lennon, 32, allegedly failed to stop.
Drummond denies murder and wounding Jacob with intent and Lennon denies causing or allowing the death of a child.
On Thursday (March 16), Mr Justice Sweeting sent the jury out to begin deliberating on verdicts at the Old Bailey.
He later sent jurors home and told them they would resume their discussions at 10.30am on Friday.
