No arrests have been made after a pedestrian died following a hit and run with an HGV truck yesterday (February 6).
Police, two ambulance crews and an incident response officer attended Brixton Road after an emergency call at 9.37am.
The first paramedic arrived in less than five minutes, but a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body has not yet been identified and work to inform his family is still on going.
The driver of the HGV did not stop at the scene but police have now located them and they are assisting police with their enquiries.
Brixton Road has since reopened.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.37am (Monday, February 6) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Brixton Road, SW9.
“We sent two ambulance crews and an incident response officer to the scene.
“The first paramedic arrived in less than five minutes.
“Sadly, a man died at the scene.”
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 09.40am on Monday, 6 February to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and an HGV in Brixton Road, SW9.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.
“A male pedestrian – no further details – was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries to confirm his identify and inform next of kin remain ongoing.
“The HGV did not stop at the scene but has since been traced.
“There have been no arrests and the driver is assisting police with their enquiries.
“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
