A man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing on board a Route 50 bus in Streatham.
Monior Saleh, of Verran Road, was charged yesterday (December 22) with attempted murder and possession of a knife.
The 35-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Bexley Magistrates' Court today.
Police were called to Streatham High Road at 2.25pm on Wednesday, December 21, after reports that a man had been stabbed on a bus.
Officers attended and a passenger on the bus – a man in his 50s - was found with stab wounds.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
His condition has been assessed as non-life threatening.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “A man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing aboard a Route 50 bus.
“Monior Saleh, 35 (07.04.87) of Verran Road, SW12 was charged on Thursday, 22 December with attempted murder and possession of a knife.
“He was remanded in custody to appear at Bexley Magistrates' Court on Friday, 23 December.
“Police were called to Streatham High Road, SW16 at 14:25hrs on Wednesday, 21 December following reports that a man had been stabbed on a bus.
“Officers attended.
“A man in his 50s - a passenger on the bus - was found with stab wounds.
“He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. His condition has been assessed as non-life threatening.”
