A MAN is fighting for his life after a crash with a car in Tooting.
It comes as another man, the driver of a car, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving.
The incident between a car and a pedestrian happened in Garratt Lane at 1.35am today.
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with potential life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car remains in police custody.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At 1.35am on Thursday, 27 October police were called to Garratt Lane, SW17 following reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
“Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service.
“The pedestrian (a man – no further details) was taken to hospital with potential life threatening injuries.
“The driver (a man – no further details) was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving.
“He remains in custody.”
