A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being involved in what is suspected to have been a hit-and-run in Wandsworth.
Police were called to a person found injured in Wandsworth Road just before 1.10am today.
A man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital and he remains there in a life-threatening condition.
Police believe the pedestrian was involved in a crash with a car which didn't stop at the scene.
Officers are conducting urgent enquiries to trace the driver.
Road closures are still in place in the area and drivers are being advised to find alternative routes.
Any witnesses or drivers with dash cam footage are asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8285 1574.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision in Lambeth.
"Police were called at 01:09hrs on Tuesday, 20 September to reports of a person found injured in Wandsworth Road, SW8.
"Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.
"A man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition. His next of kin have been informed.
"At this early stage we believe the pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car which failed to stop at the scene.
"Urgent enquiries are taking place to trace the driver.
"Road closures are in place and motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
"Any witnesses or drivers with dash cam footage are asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8285 1574.
"Alternatively, call 101 quoting CAD301/20Sep."
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.07am today (20 September) to reports of a road traffic collision on Wandsworth Road, Clapham.
“We sent an ambulance crew, three paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer to the scene.
"We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car.
“The first paramedic arrived in less than four minutes.
“We treated a patient at the scene for very serious injuries and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
