A 22-year-old man has been taken to hospital where he is suffering gun shot wounds.
Officers were called to St Rule Street in Nine Elms shortly before 4.25am on Monday, 29 August to reports of a shooting.
Emergency services attended but no victim was found at the scene.
Officers were informed that a man had been taken to hospital in a private car.
Officers say they are awaiting an update on the 22-year-olds condition.
A crime scene remains in place at the scene as enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to St Rule Street, SW8 shortly before 4.25am on Monday, 29 August to reports of a shooting.
“Officers, including firearms officers, attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS).
“No victim was found at the scene but officers were informed that a man had been taken to hospital in a private vehicle.
“A 22-year-old man remains in hospital suffering gunshot wounds, and we await an update on his condition.
“A crime scene remains in place at the location.
“Enquiries continue.”
