Disruption is being caused to train services between Wimbledon and Tooting in both directions due to a fallen tree blocking the railway.
Trains are currently not able to call at Haydon’s Road and Tooting station.
National Rail has stated that disruption is expected to continue until 4pm.
Thameslink has announced that the tree surgeon is now on site, and working to remove the tree blocking the line.
Tickets are being accepted on South Western Railway, Tramlink between Wimbledon and Croydon, the Tube, and local buses between Wimbledon, Streatham and Sutton.
A spokesperson for Thameslink said: “Once our team are on site, they will be able to evaluate the situation and any potential damage to the train, and advise us further from there.
“If you are on the affected train, please await instructions from railway staff, who will be in contact as soon as possible.”
