A man has been arrested following an assault in broad daylight at Clapham Junction station.

British Transport Police were called to the scene at around 3.30pm on Saturday.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault and assault.

He was then taken to police custody.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "British Transport Police were called to Clapham Junction railway station at 3.28pm on Saturday 19 March following reports of an assault.

"Officers attended, and a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault and assault before being conveyed to police custody."
