A 79-year-old man has died following reports that a person had collapsed in Battersea.
Officers were called to Battersea Bridge Road, near the junction with Petworth Street, following reports that a person had collapsed.
Police found a 79-year-old man who was reportedly “unresponsive”.
Despite the efforts of officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics, the man was shortly pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred at 6.47am earlier today (January 31).
Officers are working to identify the man and inform his next of kin.
Wandsworth Police have said their thoughts are “with the man’s family and friends" at this time.

A spokesperson from Wandsworth Police said: “At 06:47hrs on Monday, 31 January police were called to Battersea Bridge Road, near to the junction with Petworth Street, following reports that a person had collapsed.
“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics.
“They found a 79-year-old man who was unresponsive.
“Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
“Officers are working to identify and inform his next of kin.
“Our thoughts are with the male's family and friends at this time.”
