A 60-year-old woman has been left with life-changing injuries after a serious assault in Wandsworth.
Police attended the scene in Garratt Lane at 2.11am to find the 60-year-old with head injuries.
She was taken by ambulance crews to hospital.
A 47-year-old man was located nearby and arrested on suspicion of GBH and attempted rape.
On December 10, Yaw Donkor, 47, was charged with attempted rape, GBH, kidnap and robbery.
Donkor, of no fixed address, has been remanded to attend Wimbledon Magistrate's court.
Crime scenes were in place on Mapleton Road, the Entrance to King George’s Park and The Old Sergeant Bus Stop.
Wandsworth Police tweeted on Thursday: "On Thursday 09th December at 02:11 hours, police received a call to Garratt Lane regarding a serious assault.
"Police arrived on scene and found a 60 year old woman with head injuries.
"@Ldn_Ambulance attended and transported the victim to a local hospital.
"Her injuries are not thought to be not life threatening but potentially life changing.
"A 47 year old man was located nearby and arrested for Grievous Bodily Harm and Attempted Rape.
"He is currently in custody.
"Crime scenes are currently in place on Mapleton Road, the Entrance to King George’s Park and The Old Sergeant Bus Stop.
