A man wanted by the Met Police on recall to prison fled from custody by jumping out of a St George's Hospital window, it has emerged.
In an appeal which urged the public to help in the search for him, police said that Andrew Waters, 45, from Wandsworth, was arrested on recall to prison by police recently.
He was at St George's Hospital in Tooting on Friday (November 19) in custody and managed to flee by climbing out of a window, as the police appeal recounted:
"Andrew Waters, 45, from Wandsworth was at the hospital on Friday, 19 November, having been arrested on recall to prison.
"While at the hospital, Waters made off from custody by climbing through a window. Enquiries are ongoing to trace him," a Met Police spokesperson said.
The Met are now calling on the public to help them in their search for Waters.
Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call 101 quoting ref 4010/18nov.
"For an immediate sighting, do not approach him, but please call 999," the Met said.
