Additional officers have been deployed to both Wandsworth and Merton after a group of males armed with weapons were seen roaming the Putney area.
The Metropolitan Police said additional officers were deployed in and around the local areas of both boroughs to "provide reassurance", and a Section 60 stop and search order has been authorised in the area following a string of incidents.
On October 23, police received reports of a group of males who were seen armed with weapons in the Putney area.
Police also received two unconfirmed reports of robberies in Mitcham which detectives believe are linked.
Extra patrols will provide residents with reassurance, whilst the Section 60 was in place across both boroughs overnight.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 and quote CAD 4506/23Oct.
