Clapham is home to a new bar and club – and it’s making weekends in the area ‘lit’.
Housed within two railway arches, Lit is a late night off Clapham high street venue filled with lasers, light shows and dancers.
The bar and club is open on Fridays and Saturdays until 3am – with an additional Thursday night opening for events as well.
The tunes – brought in partnership with Flex FM - are predominantly of the house genre, with some commercial garage in the mix too.
Co-owner Ashley Letchford says Lit is the place to be for its great entertainment, dancers and DJs.
He said: “It’s a great place to come and let your hair down really.
“We’ve got cool DJs, great dancers and all the entertainment.
“Plus, on Saturday nights we’re empowering women by booking female-only DJs.”
Mr Letchford has owned the south London venue for six years but was forced to close when the first lockdown meant nightclubs could no longer open.
What was Fu Manchu club was then transformed into Lit over lockdown after Mr Letchford's long-standing friend Daniel O'Reilly, known as Dapper Laughs, and Flex FM approached him about joining together to create somewhere new.
Mr Letchford said it has been really important to relaunch the venue following a 16-month closure.
He added: "The closure gave us time to formulate and conceptualise a new brand with a view to launch when allowed.
"We didn't know what was going to happen but when they apopriached me it was a no brainer as I knew the industry would come through at some stage."
