Tooting Broadway station was forced to close on Tuesday afternoon (June 22) as emergency services rushed respond to a "serious incident" at the station.
Images posted on social media Tuesday showed a police cordon surrounding at least one station entrance with various police and ambulance vehicles in the area and a sizeable crowd of onlookers gathered outside.
Responding to a request from the Wandsworth Times, a London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
"We were called at 3.31pm today (22 June) to reports of a stabbing near Tooting Broadway Station.
"We sent an ambulance crew and a medic in a car to the scene, with the first of our medics arriving in under one minute.
"A man was treated at the scene and taken to hospital."
The Metropolitan Police in Wandsworth meanwhile said they had responded to a reports of a man suffering an injury to his arm at the station.
In a short statement posted to Twitter later on Tuesday, a spokesperson for the borough police force said:
"Police were called at 15:32hrs to Tooting Broadway LU Station after a man was found with a laceration to his arm. This is believed to be self-inflicted.
"Road closures have been lifted and the station has re-opened."

Tooting MP Dr Rosena Allin-Khan meanwhile described the incident as "serious" in a Tweet posted on Tuesday afternoon.
"Due to a serious incident outside Tooting Broadway station, the station and surrounding roads are closed.
"I am liaising with the police for a fuller picture of events and will provide an update as soon as possible," she said.
British Transport Police were contacted for comment.
