Brockwell Park is once again set to be home to an open-air cinema this summer.
Luna Cinema has applied to Lambeth Council for a premises licence to show a series of films in July.
The company has screened films in the park for years, but usually pool side in Brockwell Lido.
Luna changed the screening site to the lawn behind the lido in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the application: “We shall be screening one film a day at dusk on the lawn behind Brockwell lido with a full bar and food provision for consumption on site.
“The entrance to the event will be strictly limited to ticket sales, and any social distancing regulations and government guidance that is relevant at the time of the screenings will be followed.”
If successful, films will be screened from July 1 to July 4. Anyone who would like to make a representation to the council should do so before June 2.
Luna also plans to hold open-air cinemas in Dulwich Park in August, the Old Royal Navy College, Greenwich, in July, Victoria Tower Gardens (Houses of Parliament) in August, Westminster Abbey in July/August, Clapham Common in July, Royal Hospital Chelsea in September, Brompton Cemetery in September, Regent’s Park in August/September, and Wandsworth Park in October.
