25 vehicles were seized, and three arrests made by Wandsworth Police in a day of cracking down on car crime.
Among the offences were drink driving, possession of a knife and driving with no insurance.
Officers stopped 250 vehicles on Monday, April 17 as part of Operation Sync – a mission to detect driving offences and target criminals travelling to south west London.
A team of 50 officers reported a variety of driving offences as vehicles headed towards Kingston, Richmond, Wandsworth and Merton.
In a statement on Facebook, Wandsworth Police said:
“Overall, there was one arrest for Drink Driving (at double the limit), one arrest for possession of an offensive weapon after a knife was found in the driver’s door and one arrest for failing to appear at court.
“As well as this, one stolen vehicle was identified and recovered to the owner, 25 vehicles were seized for driving with no insurance and 45 traffic offence reports were completed.
15 vehicles were reported for non-compliant number plates and 3 vehicles for non-compliant tinted windows.”
Specials from the Met's Vehicle Enforcement team and South West BCU were out for Operation Sync on Wandsworth Bridge on the 17th to detect criminals heading south.

The operation was run by the MPS Specials' Vehicle Enforcement Team and was in support of Vision Zero, TfL’s strategy to eliminate all deaths and serious injuries on the London transport network by 2041.
