Another two vaccination hubs will open in Lambeth by the end of the week, bringing the total to four.
Initially the vaccination will be prioritised for those over 80, care home workers and residents, and frontline health and care staff.
The vaccinations will be delivered at some hospitals and GP hubs. By the end of the week in Lambeth, vaccinations will be available at Hetherington Group Practice in Ferndale and Paxton Green Group Practice in Norwood.
This is added to the two already available, Streatham Place Surgery and Hurley Clinic in Kennington.
Lambeth residents can also get vaccinated at the ExCel Centre, one of the newly opened national mass vaccination centres.
Letters have been sent to people aged 80 or over who live 30 to 45-minute drive from one of the seven new sites and explain how they can book a slot.
This week Councillor Jim Dickson, Lambeth’s joint cabinet member for health and social care, tweeted the update: “We’ll shortly have four Covid vaccination hubs operating across Lambeth.
“Hurley Clinic, Kennington, up and running since December 14, Streatham Place since January 8, Hetherington (between Clapham and Brixton) by January 15, and Paxton Green, Norwood, by January 15.
“We are investigating sites for mass vaccination in Lambeth. Message to residents remains they wait for their GP/NHS to contact them to be called in for the jab.”
