Smugglers Way Household Waste and Recycling Centre in Wandsworth is back offering all services.
But as the centre, which Lambeth residents also have access to, expects very busy periods, it will regulate access based on car registration number “for a while longer”.
People can only visit on certain days, depending on their registration number, and will be turned away if they arrive on the wrong day.
‘Even’ registration number plates based on the second digit, for example xx52 xxx, will be allowed access on even days of the month.
This month those with even registrations numbers can come on Thursday (May 28) and Saturday (May 30).
‘Odd’ registration plates, for example 53 or 05, old style number plates, and international or personalised registration plates will be allowed access on odd days of the month – this month Friday (May 29) and Sunday (May 31).
Visitors will be required to stay two metres away from other users and centre staff all times, and are advised to wear gloves.
Opening times are from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm on Saturday, and 8am to 5pm on Sunday.
If visitors arrive on foot or by bike there will be a pedestrian one-way system in operation.
If anyone is unwell with symptoms of coronavirus or in a 14-day household isolation, they should stay at home.
