A fight broke out at Tooting McDonald's yesterday evening just hours before stores across the country shut indefinitely.
Witnesses said that a group of of people were attacking a man in the queue.
"There were a lot of Uber drivers hitting the man with their heads encased in the helmets," the witness said.
"The managers were amazing and police arrived quickly."
A spokesman for the Met Police confirmed that at 7.15pm on Monday, March 23, officers in Tooting were called to reports of an altercation between delivery drivers.
"One man, aged in his 30s, told police he had been assaulted during the altercation which had taken place around two hours previously," the spokesman added.
"No injuries were reported and no arrests were made."
