Balham was locked down yesterday (January 18) due to a stand off between police and a knife-wielding man.
Hearnville Road, near Chestnut Grove Secondary School, was closed.
Police were called at around 10.25am.
Specially trained police negotiators spoke to a man inside a house who was believed to be in possession of a knife.
The man was detained at 4.54pm.
