An award-winning brewery in Wandsworth has launched crowd-funding campaign on the Internet in a bid to raise £350,000 to expand its operations.
The Horns Brewing Company, in Summerstown, produces more than 17,000 pints a day, including of the Lambeth Walk beer which won a World Beer Award as well as awards from CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale), among other accolades.
Based near Garratt Lane, the company is now looking to build a new brew house at a separate premises to make even more.
And so far a total of 155 ale lovers and investors alike have donated £66,450 through the crowd-funding campaign, which ends in 11 days.
Company co-founder Chris Mills said there was "huge potential" and that the campaign would allow people to become part of the company's future.
He said: “It's really positive that so many people are interested in our story. The new brew house will enable us to keep up with current demand and expand to new markets both domestic and overseas. And we will soon recruit an experienced head brewer to continue the quality we have produced so far.”
Plans are also afoot to recruit new staff, including a sales manager and head brewer, to launch a ‘Beer Bus’ which will tour events and festivals. It's hoped there will also be brewing and tasting schools.
The company was founded in 2011 and in 2014 launched its taproom, which will also be renovated under plans.
