Over the Easter Weekend, a team of 9 cyclists cycled over 200 miles in 3 days for the social action cancer charity 'Something To Look Forward To'. This charity supports families affected by cancer and financial hardship by passing on donated 'gifts' and 'experiences' to give people opportunities to relax, have fun and create positive memories together.
The team started their ride at St Georges Hospital Tooting, which is an official referral route to the charity. They then cycled to Colchester, Norwich and ended their journey in Cambridge which is where the charity was set up by Fiona Medley who is herself affected by cancer.
Andrew Abery shaved his beard in order to reach his fundraising target and Ben Foulis cycled for one whole day in a pair of fluorescent pants! In total, the team raised over £6,650 which is incredible!
"We are so proud of what our charity fundraisers achieved as this was a mammoth challenge for them all both physically and psychologically. Our cyclists overcame fatigue, pain and injury with confidence, determination and most importantly lots of laughter. With the money they have raised, we can now help hundreds more families in need and for that we are eternally grateful".
