The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, gave an assembly to his former primary school to celebrates its 120th birthday.
Fircroft Primary School, in Tooting, invited Mr Khan to speak on Friday, July 8 as part of a week of celebrations.
To a packed school hall of students, each year dressed to represent a different era in Fircroft Primary School long history, the former Tooting MP entertained pupils will tales of his childhood antics.
He then fielded questions from the children on a range of subjects from how he got into politics to his possible prime ministerial aspirations.
Mr Khan said: "It’s a great school. What's really important is to make sure the children recognize that they can achieve anything if they work hard and listen to their teachers.
"The key things for children are ambition and aspiration and we must make sure every young person in London realise that they can achieve anything.
"This school gave me the confidence and it gave me skills that I needed; interpersonal skills, academic skills, the sense of teamwork and how to respect people for who they are.
"This school has a huge place in my heart."
