Three leading writers from the University of Roehampton look forward to captivating young minds once again at this year’s Wimbledon Book Fest.
The festival at Wimbledon Common spans 10 days from October 2 and has already published its programme and confirmed speakers.
Multi-award winning poet David Harsent, professor of creative writing at the university, will host an afternoon creative writing workshop on October 4, centred on stimulating those who wish to pursue a writing career for pleasure.
Professor Paul O’Prey, vice-chancellor and professor of modern literature, will join his colleague as a confirmed speaker, looking at three of the most prominent women poets of the First World War on October 11, before Professor Zachary Leader talks about masterful American writer Saul Bellow.
The festival will also host a number of events including a short story competition, a young writers competiition and a young film-makers programme.
