A police detective has been accused of inciting prostitution.
Daniel Williams, 36, a detective constable for Wandsworth, is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this morning.
He has been charged with one count of causing or inciting prostitution for financial gain, two counts of misconduct in public office and one count of concealing criminal property.
Det Con Williams has been suspended from the Metropolitan Police.
The offences are alleged to have taken place from July 1, 2014, to present, while Det Con Williams was on and off duty.
Det Con Williams was arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards on Wednesday, October 8.
He was taken into custody at a central London police station where he was later charged.
He has been suspended.
