Now a public enquiry is underway into how the Northern Line proposed route is finalised so that work can commence in 2015.
The land for this major transport infrastructure project should be increased from the £24m set aside to include futureproofing down at Battersea Power Station with the Bookers Cash & Carry site.
An unpopular request to some, but vital if huge numbers of commuters travel from this end of the Northern Line Branch by 2020.
Any futureproofing would include a new tube station entrance on to the New Covent Garden Market and the residential quarter on Thessally Road.
Any plans to redevelop the whole of the Patmore Estate by 2025 will also see a population boom which will demand access to the city by tube.
Questions should be asked now before it's too late.
