Comedian and actress Samantha Baines brings her Edinburgh Fringe 2016 and Brighton Fringe 2017 sell out debut hour to London’s Theatre 503 entitled 1 Woman, A Dwarf Planet and 2 Cox - yes it's science meets funny.
A What the Frock Best Newcomer Award Winner 2015, Pun Championship Finalist 2017 and Funny Women Finalist 2014, Samantha is no stranger to our to screens appearing in Call the Midwife, Bucket alongside Miriam Margolyes, Lee Nelson's Well Funny People, cinema release A Royal Night Out and most recently as cockney girl Mary in The Crown on Netflix.
A BBC Radio regular and writer for Time Out and The Guardian how does this newcomer have time to fit it all in?
"I drink a lot of tea and have two cats who remind me daily that my problems are not as important as theirs” says Samantha.
1 Woman, A Dwarf Planet and 2 Cox is an exploration of space and feminism framed in a gag heavy, puntastic hour.
You see, Samantha might have a little crush on Brian Cox - a man who reignited her passion for science and well conditioned hair. This show is Samantha's attempt to impress the Cox but she might hit some sexism-sized speed bumps along the way.
Why are dogs leading the space race? What would Gravity be like on tinder? And what will she do with her hair in space?
Catch her now before she volunteers to go to Mars... well Matt Damon managed it!
